Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the overall accounts payable process. As the sole individual within the Accounts Payable function, the Accounts Payable Specialist is expected to manage a significant volume of supplier invoices and enter these invoices into one of three systems: AMOS, AS400, and CODA, in a timely and accurate fashion. In addition, the Accounts Payable Specialist may be called on to support the implementation of new technologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the AP environment as well as provide recommendations for current process improvements. Responsibilities Ensure all invoices are duly authorized and appropriately coded. Enter all supplier invoices into one of three systems (AMOS, AS400, and CODA) and process for payment. Verify carrier invoices and further investigate and resolve any discrepancies that occur. Manage carrier accruals and report discrepancies for protection/accrual correction. Work with various departments to ensure root cause issues impacting AP are identified, addressed, and resolved. Report and reconcile carrier accruals on a monthly basis. When required, support the implementation of new technologies and/or processes pertaining to Accounts Payable. Perform other duties, as assigned. Qualifications & Skills Good communication skills. Ability to work independently and be comfortable taking initiative. Capacity to identify AP-related issues and coordinate resolution with other departments. Ability to be organized and maintain the order of a significant volume of supplier invoices. 4 years of relevant experience (knowledge of transportation business and basic accounting would be considered assets). Good knowledge of Excel and Word. Bilingualism (English and French).
