Post Name Production Accountant Qualification A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business is an asset Industry Private Employment Type Full Time Work Hours 8 Hours Salary CAD 20 To CAD 27 Per Hour Location Calgary, Alberta, Canada T2P 0R3 Job Description Vermilion has an excellent opportunity for a Production Accountant reporting to the Supervisor, Production Accounting based in Calgary.  The successful candidate's primary responsibility is to complete full-cycle production and revenue accounting for assigned operated and non-operated Alberta & Saskatchewan assets.   The candidate will work within a dynamic team utilizing strong production accounting knowledge, and analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and achieve the desired results.  Primary Tasks and Responsibilities Full-cycle production and revenue accounting for Saskatchewan and Alberta Operated and Non-Operated properties Setup and maintenance of master data in Metrix including new wells, market masters, royalties, and processing fees Monthly review and reconciliation of accounts receivable Assist with reviewing and processing amendments Respond to government, royalty, partner, and internal stakeholders' queries Review, investigate and resolve front-end Metrix system errors or issues Assist in external audit queries related to production, royalties, revenue, and transportation Provide mentorship and guidance to other production accountants Generate and analyze reports from Optix and other reporting tools for various stakeholders and purposes Identify and implement process optimizations Maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Other duties and special projects as required Essential Experience & Skills Minimum 5 years of oil and gas production accounting experience Working knowledge of the Metrix production accounting system including set up and maintenance of marketing arrangements, royalties calculations, and facility charges would be an asset Solid Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookup) with prior experience leveraging these skills to improve business processes and efficiencies Working knowledge of Qbyte FM, CS Explorer, Proview, Energy link, and Microsoft Office would be an asset Demonstrated history of leveraging analytical skills to develop reports and analyses using a variety of tools for different purposes and stakeholders Education CAPPA certification preferred A degree or diploma in Accounting or Business is an asset Vermilion Attractions International company, headquartered in Alberta, Canada  Diverse asset base in Europe, Australia, the US, and Canada The 20-year history of market outperformance Ranked among the Top 10 Best Workplaces in Canada and The Netherlands A challenging and inspiring environment that embraces teamwork and collaboration Strong community investment and committed to giving back to the communities where our people live and work Vermilion is committed to ensuring we conduct our activities in a manner that will protect the health and safety of our employees, contractors, and the public.
